Caroline Herschel’s 266th Birthday

Google published a Google Doodle about Caroline Herschel on March 16th, 2016. Caroline Herschel was a German astronomer. Caroline Herschel discovered several coments like the 35P/Herschel-Rigollet. She was awarded as a honorary member of the Royal Astronomical Society and the Royal Irish Academy.

Google celebrates her 266th birthday with an animated Doodle published in several countries.

Clara Rockmore Google Doodle

There is a Google Doodle published on several google homepages about Clara Rockmore on 9th March, 2016.

Clara Rockmore was a great player of the Theremin. The Theremin is an eletronic instrument. She got famous for playing it as good as nobody else.

She worked together with the founder Leon Termen. Clara Rockmore also was supported by Robert Bob Moog. Robert Moog is the inventor of the synthesizer, as well.

Google published a Google Doodle about „why is there a leap day?“ on Februaray 29th 2016. On the Google homepage worldwide there was published the Leap Year 2016 Google Doodle.

A leap year is a year containing one additional day added to keep the calendar year synchronized with the astronomical or seasonal year.

Each leap year has 366 instead of 365 days. This happen because the astronomical year is not count in days and is a little bit longer than the seasonal year. A leap year take place every 4 years else if the year is divisible by 100 or 400.

René Laennec – Rene Laennecs 235th birthday (Google Doodle)

There will be a Google Doodle about Reen Laennec.
René-Théophile-Hyacinthe Laennec ( 17 February 1781 – 13 August 1826) was a French physician. He invented the stethoscope in 1816, while working at the Hôpital Necker and pioneered its use in diagnosing various chest conditions.

He became a lecturer at the Collège de France in 1822 and professor of medicine in 1823. His final appointments were that of Head of the Medical Clinic at the Hôpital de la Charité and Professor at the Collège de France. He died of tuberculosis in 1826 at the age of 45.
